The Give Act

The Give Act sounds good right? Think again. Give is an acronym for the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act. But don’t be fooled “volunteering is not what Obama or the House of Reps. have in mind.

WorldNetDaily reports:

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a plan to set up a new “volunteer corps” and consider whether “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people” should be developed.

The legislation also refers to “uniforms” that would be worn by the “volunteers” and the “need” for a “public service academy, a 4-year institution” to “focus on training” future “public sector leaders.” The training, apparently, would occur at “campuses.”

The vote yesterday came on H.R. 1388, which reauthorizes through 2014 the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, acts that originally, among other programs, funded the AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps.

It not only reauthorizes the programs, but also includes “new programs and studies” and is expected to be funded with an allocation of $6 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Many, however, are raising concerns that the program, which is intended to include 250,000 “volunteers,” is the beginning of what President Obama called his “National Civilian Security Force” in a a speech last year in which he urged creating an organization as big and well-funded as the U.S. military. He has declined since then to elaborate.

WND reported when a copy of the speech provided online apparently was edited to exclude Obama’s specific references to the new force.

Where have I heard stuff like this before?… let me think…. GOT IT! The Soviet Union, of course. Communism at it’s best — Recreated and Repackaged to look, sound, and seem better. But it’s goal will be the same. That being: To mandate all who are able to serve the mother land must, so as to better the mother land all of us. Scary where this could go…

Brevity

Breitbart.com posted an article that I thought was profound – mostly because of it’s brevity. The story reads as follows…

“North Korea has placed a long-range missile on a launch pad, a US official confirmed Wednesday.”

BAM! There ya go… that’s all that really needs to be said.

Guilty Till Proven Innocent.

A pastor is serving time in jail for protesting abortion. (I wonder what what would happen if a bunch of atheists protested outside a church building). What about free speech?! To make matter’s worse the jury was shown video evidence that clearly exonerated him but the jury simply did not care. They wanted to prove a point. So justice was asked to leave the courtroom. Guilty till proven innocent.

A pro-life African-American pastor has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for sharing a pro-life message outside local abortion centers. Walter Hoye was previously found guilty of violating what pro-life attorneys call an unconstitutional city law designed specifically to target him.

Oakland officials had enacted the law, which has been heavily criticized as an unconstitutional limit on free speech.

The ordinance prohibits contact within eight feet of women entering abortion businesses without their consent.

However, Hoye will be forced to pay a $1,130 fine and has been ordered to stay away from the abortion business and no longer help women find abortion alternatives.

Allison Aranda, a staff attorney with the Life Legal Defense Foundation, a pro-life law firm representing Hoye in the case, says an appeal is forthcoming.

“It is absolutely incredible that in America an individual can be sentenced to jail for engaging in peaceful free speech activity on a public sidewalk,” she told LifeNews.com Thursday afternoon. “We will appeal.”

The firm is also challenging the constitutionality of the ordinance in a lawsuit asking it to be struck down.

Hoye is an African-American pastor who feels a special calling to work for the end of abortion because abortion centers specifically target the black community.

As part of his efforts, he stands in front of an abortion center in Oakland with leaflets offering abortion alternatives and a sign reading, “Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help.”

Aranda previously told LifeNews.com that the jury convicted Hoye despite a video tape the defense presented at trial showing that prosecution witnesses conjured up phantom patients whom Hoye had allegedly harassed.

The tape also showed that Hoye had not threatened two abortion facility escorts or its director, as had been alleged.

“This is a miscarriage of justice and we will appeal this verdict,” Aranda said.

“After speaking with several jurors after the verdict was read, it is clear that the court’s failure and outright refusal to instruct the jury regarding the key elements of the crime led to the erroneous conviction of Rev. Hoye,” she added.

LLDF attorneys say the “clinic escorts” are upset by Hoye’s presence and they surround him to impede his movement, block his sign with large sheets of blank cardboard, and make raucous noise to drown out his quiet offers of assistance.

Because their actions didn’t deter Hoye, the Oakland city council approved the new law. The penalty for illegally approaching a person to talk or hand out a leaflet is one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.

At the pre-trial hearing, Hoye’s LLDF attorneys cross-examined the victims.

The escorts admitted that Hoye never used force against them, threatened them, or blocked them. They proudly testified that they routinely block Hoye to prevent women from seeing his sign.

That’s What She Said…

And I am so glad “she” did! Gail M. Harding wrote an exceptional piece that I love – mostly because it begs the question: What the? But also because she exposes a serious lack of common sense, in liberal thinking!

Our president stands before the microphones, proclaiming we will not torture (waterboard) to obtain information from suspected enemies of our country. He also rescinds the Mexico City policy, thereby providing taxpayer-funding of overseas abortion (burning by saline solution, tearing apart limb by limb, jamming scissors in base of skull — the purpose being death). He supports government-funding of Planned Parenthood (our country’s largest abortion provider) — an estimated $300 million from federal and state tax dollars. He promises to sign “women’s right to choose” legislation (abolishing state protections of the unborn).

Some citizens object to pro-lifers fighting abortion (killing the innocent pre-born or partial-born) but not capital punishment (executing those who have been found guilty of breaking established laws and receiving just punishment).

So, it’s not OK to torture (without killing) suspected enemies of our country in order to protect our citizens, and it is not OK to kill by lethal injection or electric chair those found guilty of certain crimes, but it is OK to torture to death innocent unborn babies at home and abroad and to pay for it with taxpayer funding? Does this reasoning make sense? America, wake up.

Seriously, we need some common sense policy making again in our government! And so I say Yes and Amen to this article.

Unfertilized Embryo?

If Bush, Palin, the Pope, any Republican, any Conservative, any Pro-life person had said what Clinton says in this video we would never hear the end of it… and rightfully so. But it’s Bill Clinton – the the beloved and one time messiah of the liberal pro-choice America. What Clinton says, goes.

(hat tip: Hot Air)

Question: What is a fertilized egg called?

Answer: Embryo

Clinton’s clear lack of knowledge is impressive – and not surprising – but what is scary is that people are still wanting to get his advice on how to move forward with embryonic stem cell research. God help us.

Save The Animals, Kill The Children

I can scarcely believe it when I hear about people who care more about animals then they do about people. Abortion already get’s me crazy but add to it a pro-choice individual, calling for the protection of innocent animals, and I am done!

Check this out:

(hat tip – CultureWatch)

The twin headlines in a Sunday newspaper said it all: “US ends stem cell ban;” “Obama’s whale stance”. Here we have more proof – as if more proof was needed – that America has the most pro-death president ever. Obama has been taking all sorts of actions against life, and his latest actions are simply more of the same.

Obama’s war against the unborn continues apace, but at least he cares a lot about whales. While overturning a ban on federal funding of destructive embryonic stem cell research, he has announced that the US will firmly oppose whaling.

Pres. Obama really is that radical on abortion, and the liberal’s he is pandering to would rather see our children die at the hands of politics and convenience – and give rights to animals -  rather than protecting and defending our posterity.

Horrific.

A Simple Question

Posted: March 10th, 2009 | Author: Ian Kelly | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , | 2 Comments »

If a woman is pregnant, then what is she pregnant with?

As I see it you have limited choices:

  1. Human
  2. Alien
  3. Clump of tissue
  4. Animal (Dog, Cat, Mongoose, etc.)

Yeah, I know it’s a simple question but yet somehow people are stumped by it — really. I have spent many a days, with Bound4LIFE, praying at the U.S. Supreme Court and have of course had to answer questions about why I am praying.

Here is a little scenario:

Spectator: What are you doing?

Me: Praying for God to end abortion.

Spectator: What? Why?

Me: I believe murdering innocent children is wrong.

Spectator: Well the fetus is not a person.

Me: Then what exactly is a woman pregnant with?

Spectator: Bigot.

Sure, not everyone responds like this but I think you would be surprised by the number of people who do. It seems as if simple common sense has all be escaped us as a society. Or, perhaps it’s easier to convince ourselves that a child is less than human so that we can feel better ourselves. Either way abortion is wrong and must stop.

Not Once, But Twice.

Just when you thought California couldn’t get any crazier… In the wake of Proposition 8 the state Legislature of California approved a resolution on Monday declaring that voters alone did not have the right to adopt the gay marriage ban.

Funny thing is – they do. The legislator’s just don’t like that idea. Keep in mind the voters approved this measure not once, but twice.

The California Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on Proposition 8 tomorrow. Let’s pray that they will be given wisdom and revelation.
